Styles that look great in your Roblox display name:
How to use on Roblox
- Type your text above and tap Copy on the style you like.
- Open Roblox and go to Settings > Account Info > Display Name.
- Paste into display name and save โ the style stays because these are real Unicode characters.
Measured: what each style does to your text
Every number below comes from running the styles in this page's tool over the same test word, Roblox (6 UTF-16 units). "Units" is how apps actually count a field: characters outside the Basic Multilingual Plane (most emoji, some decorative letters) count as two. Plain text is the baseline at 1.00×.
| Style | Units | vs plain | Roblox, styled |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bold (Serif) | 12 | 2.00× | ๐๐จ๐๐ฅ๐จ๐ฑ |
| Sans-Serif Bold | 12 | 2.00× | ๐ฅ๐ผ๐ฏ๐น๐ผ๐ |
| Double-Struck | 11 | 1.83× | โ๐ ๐๐๐ ๐ฉ |
| Circled | 6 | 1.00× | โโโโโโง |
| Squared | 12 | 2.00× | ๐ ๐พ๐ฑ๐ป๐พ๐ |
| Wide / Fullwidth | 6 | 1.00× | ๏ผฒ๏ฝ๏ฝ๏ฝ๏ฝ๏ฝ |
4 of the 6 styles come out longer than plain text โ because the replacement letters live outside the Basic Multilingual Plane and cost two UTF-16 units each. Bold (Serif) is the most expensive at 2.00×, so a name that barely fits a fixed field limit in plain letters will not fit in that style. Shorten the word first, then switch styles.
The other 2 (Circled, Wide / Fullwidth) replace each letter one-for-one, so they never change the length of your text. If a field is already tight, start from these and only reach for the combining styles where there is room to spare.
Which characters actually get styled
Not every style covers every key. The table runs all 62 letters and digits through each style and lists what stays as plain text โ those are the characters that will look out of place in the middle of a styled word.
| Style | Styled | Left as plain text |
|---|---|---|
| Bold (Serif) | 62/62 | โ |
| Sans-Serif Bold | 62/62 | โ |
| Double-Struck | 62/62 | โ |
| Circled | 62/62 | โ |
| Wide / Fullwidth | 62/62 | โ |
| Squared | 52/62 | 0123456789 |
5 of 6 styles cover the full set. The uneven ones are the small-caps family and superscript/subscript, where Unicode simply never defined those glyphs โ Squared scores lowest at 52 of 62. Lowercase letters are usually the first gap: many styles only exist as uppercase blocks, so they map lowercase onto capital shapes and leave punctuation untouched.
Practically: type the word you want with Roblox in mind and check it in the preview above before copying. If a letter refuses to change, it is a coverage gap in the style, not a bug in the tool โ switch to a neighbouring style that covers the full set.
Common mistakes on Roblox
- Overloading โ more than 2-3 styled words or a wall of symbols makes your display name unreadable. Style one key word, keep the rest plain.
- Ignoring character limits โ decorated text often counts double; if paste fails, shorten the text first.
- Mixing too many styles โ pick one font style plus one symbol set for your Roblox display name; consistency reads as intentional, chaos reads as spam.
- Boxes (โก) instead of characters โ rare glyphs may not render on old devices; preview on your phone before publishing.
- Troubleshooting: if a paste loses formatting, the app likely strips Unicode in that field โ try a different field or a simpler style (bold/italic survive almost everywhere).
FAQ
Do these fonts work on Roblox?
Yes โ Roblox display names allow many Unicode characters, but usernames are ASCII only. Just copy and paste; no app or font install needed.
How do I change my display name on Roblox?
Copy a style or symbol here, then go to Settings > Account Info > Display Name and paste it in.
What if Roblox rejects the paste or shows boxes?
Two causes, one check each. Length: styled text can run 2-3 times the units of plain text, so shorten the word and retry before assuming the field is blocked. Glyphs: pasting into display name goes through the app's own font, and rare symbols fall back to a hollow box there. Switch to bold, italic, small-caps or plain ASCII symbols, which render on essentially every device.
