Overline Text Generator — Copy & Paste

This overline text generator adds a combining overline mark above every character — the mirror image of underlined text, handy for math notation, standout names and stylistic bios.

The result is normal text with combining marks, so it works in most apps that accept Unicode: Discord, Instagram, TikTok and more.

Coverage

Complete coverage: all 26 uppercase letters, all 26 lowercase letters and all 10 digits have a dedicated Overline character. Nothing falls back to plain text, so a full mix of caps, lowercase and numbers still looks consistent after pasting.

Length behaviour

This style stacks combining marks, so the output grows to about 2.00× the input — 20 typed characters become roughly 40. That is the trade-off for the effect: heavy but still read by the base letters underneath.

Is it reversible?

Not losslessly. Characters without a variant are left alone and the mapping is not one-to-one, so a round trip through the style can come back slightly different. Keep the plain version if you may need to undo the effect later.

Pasting and platform support

These are ordinary Unicode characters rather than images, so they paste as text into Discord, Instagram, TikTok, X, WhatsApp, Roblox, Minecraft chat and any other field that accepts Unicode. Whether a specific app shows them depends on the fonts installed on the device doing the rendering, so preview the result on the phone you will publish from. The symbol library is handy for padding a styled name with matching decorations.
