How to use on Y2K

  1. Type your text above and tap Copy on the style you like.
  2. Open the app where you want the aesthetic text (bio, name field, caption…).
  3. Paste it in and save — the style stays because these are real Unicode characters.

Measured: what each style does to your text

Every number below comes from running the styles in this page's tool over the same test word, y2k vibes (9 UTF-16 units). "Units" is how apps actually count a field: characters outside the Basic Multilingual Plane (most emoji, some decorative letters) count as two. Plain text is the baseline at 1.00×.

Sans-Serif Bold171.89×𝘆𝟮𝗸 𝘃𝗶𝗯𝗲𝘀
Double-Struck171.89×𝕪𝟚𝕜 𝕧𝕚𝕓𝕖𝕤
Squared161.78×🅈2🄺 🅅🄸🄱🄴🅂
Circled91.00×ⓨ②ⓚ ⓥⓘⓑⓔⓢ
Wide / Fullwidth91.00×y2k vibes

3 of the 5 styles come out longer than plain text — because the replacement letters live outside the Basic Multilingual Plane and cost two UTF-16 units each. Sans-Serif Bold is the most expensive at 1.89×, so a name that barely fits a fixed field limit in plain letters will not fit in that style. Shorten the word first, then switch styles.

The other 2 (Circled, Wide / Fullwidth) replace each letter one-for-one, so they never change the length of your text. If a field is already tight, start from these and only reach for the combining styles where there is room to spare.

Which characters actually get styled

Not every style covers every key. The table runs all 62 letters and digits through each style and lists what stays as plain text — those are the characters that will look out of place in the middle of a styled word.

Double-Struck62/62—

4 of 5 styles cover the full set. The uneven ones are the small-caps family and superscript/subscript, where Unicode simply never defined those glyphs — Squared scores lowest at 52 of 62. Lowercase letters are usually the first gap: many styles only exist as uppercase blocks, so they map lowercase onto capital shapes and leave punctuation untouched.

Practically: type the word you want with y2k vibes in mind and check it in the preview above before copying. If a letter refuses to change, it is a coverage gap in the style, not a bug in the tool — switch to a neighbouring style that covers the full set.

FAQ

What are y2k fonts?

Early-2000s internet nostalgia: wide letters, squared glyphs and star sparkles. They are real Unicode characters — copy and paste them anywhere text is accepted.

Do these fonts need an app or install?

No — they are Unicode text, not font files. Copy from the tool above and paste directly into any app.

Why does part of my y2k text stay plain?

Some styles do not define every character. Small-caps has no lowercase forms in Unicode, superscript is missing several letters, and neither covers punctuation — so those characters fall through as plain text. The coverage table above lists exactly which ones, per style.
